We have been working closely with the Karnataka State Forest Department who have shown immense support to protect some of the critical habitats for bats. Karnataka is the only state in India which has two protected areas dedicated for bats.

Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) is a national conservation organisation committed to effective action for the protection of India’s natural heritage. WTI’s principal objectives include managing or preventing wildlife crises and mitigating threats to individual wild animals, their populations and habitats through holistic strategies and practical interventions. WTI is BCIT’s conservation partner for the “Preventing Bat Harvests” project in Nagaland, and is providing support for this project.

Wild Otters is a research organization based out of Chorao Island, Goa. BCIT and Wild Otters have collaborated to carryout research on bat diversity across Goa region. BCIT will be providing necessary guidance and technical trainings to team Wild Otters in driving research and conservation action in the region.

Landscape Wizards and BCIT have collaborated to make a short video on Cave Ecosystem called “Life in a Cave” with bats as the flagship species for the Karnataka Forest Department’s project called “Bhimgad Collective”

The Government of Nagaland and its Department of Forests, Ecology, Environment and Wildlife is one of our governmental partners supporting the “Preventing Bat Harvests” project in Nagaland.
